Shocks Shocks and Shocks
#11
I too am deciding which shock to put on my stock H3. Everyone suggests Bilsteins or AC Delco. These are expensive options in Canada.
Bilsteins, B6 4600 - $450
AC Delco - $410
KYB Gas-A-Just - $300
All are for both front and rear. I will be following this post.

Ok guys i ended up ordering
KYB gas A Just shocks and also monroe reflex mono tube
as both were out of stock so i ordered a set of both brands and was going to see what ones shipped first but they all shipped same time haha.
I need to return a set what would you keep if both sets basically same price.
heres part numbers of each shock to look up.

Am at the point where I am starting to look at replacing mine as well... this is great info so thank's for the heads up re. the shock/damper units. I have 85K on it so am wondering if I should look into replacing the leaf springs as well?

Leaf springs generally don't wear out. They can break or get weak caused by age, overloading or having an improper lift kit were the differential is allowed to twist excessively under hard acceleration. Easily checked by inspecting for broken leafs and checking the ride height of the vehicle. Shocks on the other can wear out at different rates depending on your driving habits and road conditions.

I received my new cordless impact tools this weekend so was motivated to use them and decided on replacing the shocks. Put 225K miles on the originals so it was much needed.
No issues getting the job done. Come to find that the rear was only functioning on one shock because I was able to compress one of the old ones I removed without any effort at all. I can definitely tell the ride difference.
