Did plenty of driving today. Lots of stops. Grabbed some food and went to leave. Couldn't press the release button for the automatic shifter. Fiddled with it for a bit and drove home. Currently trying to super glue the push *** underneath the shifter boot. Anyone what the GM part number for the lock or do I need to replace the complete shifter assembly? Does someone have bypass instructions for the lock?

 

No replies? Lets add to the problem. Pretty sure it's unrelated. I need to really jam the selector into park to unlock the doors and get my key out of the ignition. Probably my transmission range senor/neutral safety switch. Where does the shifter interlock get it's signal from, body control module? Does the range sensor affect the shifter interlock? Anyone? Bueller. Bueller. Bueller.

 

I just had all my interior out (what a job) you can look at my post about rack & pinion nut (no one answered) to see what it looks like with the console off.

 

i took the spring off and taped the sol in. i can shift without brake or even battery.like the old daze!

 

So far the super glue is holding. Just like the good old daze. Just want to get it fixed before the super glue decides to stop working.
