Service parts ID tag
Just bought a 2006 H3 Black Adv/Lux 66k. Went to buy touchup paint, looked for Service Parts ID tag in glove box for paint code and found it scraped off. 2 owner carfax, great shape, couple minor dings on spare cover, perfect mechanically, interior and exterior. Wondering why someone would do this, some kind of scam or new glovebox? Is there a way to recover it from GM with VIN? Thanks for any insight.

What are you wanting to touch up? Small chips? I bought a black GM paint stick from Walmart to use on small chips scratches. I also used it paint the stainless screws for my tail light guards. I can take a pic of my paint codes in the glove box tomorrow for you if needed.

Any GM service department can pull that info up for you and give you a print out of all the information you need just from your vin #. If they say they can't do that they are lying and you need to find yourself a different dealer.

Hey guys thanks for the help, just seems strange someone would scrape that off. Going to GM dealer tomorrow, I'll let u know how I make out. Hey Airborne are you Army? My sons are ROTC cadets, oldest commissioning in May, branching MP. I like the tactical. My H3 is almost blacked out. Wheels and grill only thing needed. Got all my supplies just waiting for it to warm up.
