Default Scary Traction Control System Failure

So I hopped in my H3 today and as I began to drive away I immediately noticed decreased power. So I look down, and the traction light is flashing, I drive for another hundred feet or so and it continued to flicker off and on, cutting power each time. So I turned it off, back on, drove off, and all was well. Eventually, about 2 minutes later I'm on a main road doing about 25 MPH and all of a sudden it kicks on again, and locks up the brakes until I come skidding to a stop!

Thank God no one was behind me.

It's been fine since but I'm definitely going to get it checked out, if that had happened on an interstate it probably would have caused a wreck...

I had that happen in my other car. The stabilitrac would pulse my brakes! Turned out to be a faulty steering sensor. On that car it was located in the steering column. Your still under warranty aren't you? It's dangerous and should be attended too.

Even if he's out of warranty, the dealer should fix that at no charge. At least in my oppinion, when it comes to something that is a defect and is a serious safety issue, the company should swallow that cost.

But when you make a change on your car and the dealer thinks the change is responsible for the problem you are at logger heads until a Rep comes in. Even that doesn't promise a fix.

I had simular problem, went to go somewhere and started ok, put into reverse bam shuts down and won't start. Call Onstar for diagnostic check, nada other than blinking Traction Control light. But they hooked me up with a rollback to take to the dealer (70 miles away). Dealer give me 2008 H3 loaner till mine is ready. They replaced ECM and Battery best thing NO CHARGE.

I think you are confused with another thread. The OP didn't modify his ride from what I've read here unless if he has in some other post.
