And just so you all know, I do NOT drive with this open. It has voice navigation. I'm not THAT crazy.

The little radar detector doesn't look bad, but that computer...good grief. Is the little monitor for a backup camera?

As for my latest idea for the scan guage. Imay flush mount it in front of the shifter. I'll have to cut a square and mount a cradle underneath...the only downfall is it will point straight up. My other idea is to mount it at an angle. I'll post some pics.

Here are the few ideas I have come up with. Please forgive my crude mockup box. I did match it to the demensions of the scan guage. The dash location is a last resort.

You can pop that side panel off beneath the tweater where you have the template on the dash. There are a few holes you can use to route the cable to the OBD2 connector. You probabl wouldn't even need to do that. You can take the pillar cover off and just drop the connector through and then re-attach the pillar. Just be careful not to tear the tweeter wiring out. That would look cool. I like your idea by the shifter the best though, but at that angle, even if it's pointed directly toward you, viewing it from the side my be tricky. Besides, with it on the dash, you can see it while your driving without taking your eyes off the road.

Have you thought about cutting a hole in front of the dash cluster display, on the bottom part of the molding right above the steering column? If you do that the same way you were going to do it by the shifter, that might also work and it would be directly inline with the display

Iused to have a Ford Explorer with the computer and it was mounted on the floor of the center console. Ithink I may justmount it by the shifter and angle it up (like my pic). I don't need to stare at it constantly just a glance every now and then maybe. I don't want to cut a hole in the molding in front of the instrument panel because it would still block a portion of the display. I just don't like the idea.

Very nice. Now, how well does it work? Does it work like a OBDII scanner where it just runs off the power of the port?

That's perfect. How did you install it? The indentation that the scan guage sits in looks incredible. How did you do it? Did your H3 come like that? Fill us in.

Guys, I hope you aren't directing those questions to me. The pics are just to show how the real thing might look in the cubby hole by the shifter like RutDogg's mock-up. My ScanGauge isn't installed. Mine is in the "toolbox".
