Anybody else toting kayaks on there roof? i just bought a couple and they are quite a handful to load and unload.

i'm just using water noodles on the roof now but i am looking for a more permanent solution. i have a trailer but i'm trying to avoid having to pull it.

Yakima and Thule come to mind. Check out their sites. I know they have dedicated racks for single and dual kayak hauling.

You got options, but no matter what Kayaks are a PIA to load on top of a SUV... look into the Thule J Racks theyre pretty well made and will mount to the OEM roof racks (not the channel, the actually crossbars) with a little know how... they can be had for about $100 a pair... and you'll need two sets...

Default I use a small utility trailer

Home depot, or even craigslist. If you want to spend some money check out trailex trailers, they have light trailers that double as a dolly. Roof loading is a pain, plus all the sand and dirt scratches.
