Default Roof mounted marker lights

Hi all:

I have an 08 H3 Alpha and am installing individual roof mounted marker lights on each corner

The rear lights were easy, just tapped into the left and right lamp wiring

However I need some advice on where to tap into the wiring for the front set of lights

Do I tap directly into the left and right parking lamps or can I go to the fuse panel

I tested the front parking light fuse but it appears to be always on

Any advice is most appreciated

As always thanks for your help

Regards

I just tapped directly into the left and right parking lamps for all of mine. It's very simple that way.

Great

Thanks very much

I had figured that this would be the easiest but wanted to see what others like yourself had done.

By the way I like what you have done to your rig.

Where did you get your corner marker lights

We purchased our roof marker lights from HUMMER of Cincinnati. They ran a closeout sale about six months back , we got them for 325. If you pull the plastic A pillars cover off the driver side, there should be a wiring harness with a cap in it for just this purpose. Ours was near the lower airbox prewired.

We love the look, but drilling into the sheet metal Kinda freaked us out a bit! Especially when drilling to deep means a hole in the headliner! We were to lazy to drop it down first!

Thanks

That was a good price.

Yeah that is something that I am not comfortable in doing, so I chose just the four corners instead

No problem drilling into the plastic A pillar that I do not mind doing

Will pull them and look for the wiring harness.

Thanks very much for the information

For the front lights, rather than buying the entire marker light set, I thought to save $ by just buying the components... I bought the left and right light pieces from here:

http://hummer.autowebaccessories.com...1309_13004.php

The only problem with the light pieces was I had thought they came with bulbs/wiring, but they just came with the plastic piece! And it was supposed to require some bulb assembly (which I assume would come with the marker light set, which I didn't order)... But that was an overall blessing in disguise for me I guess because I had really wanted to use LEDs instead of bulbs (don't have to change dead bulbs every now and then too)..

So what I had done was to buy LED lights from my local pepboys, drill out the back of the marker piece, put the LED light in and silicone like crazy to seal the gaps.
