Default Roof lights... Help

Hey all
I replaced my roof lights with new Recon smoked casing with new bulbs.
I did this for two reasons:
1) Because, of course, it would look cool
2) Because, two or three of the bulbs were burnt out

Well... I get everything in and come to find out the bulbs that were burnt out are not lit up with the new lights too.

I am thinking either there is a short or there is no power to that one or two light sockets.

What do you think?
Can a socket go bad? If so, is there any way to replace them?
If it is a short, shouldnt it effect the whole setup?

Thanks

I've had a couple that would randomly go out. The sockets can be fickle & require you to fiddle with the bulb placement. I'd try to play around with that first. Also, try to see if there's any corrosion or material running the connection in the socket itself.

I ordered the led bulbs off ebay with the thick flat ends instead of the crappy thin bent wires. Sockets are cheap on there too if you need some. skin some insulation off your wires going to the sockets and see if they light up your bulbs.

I also have led lights on roof from Amazon, the 194 bulbs heat up and burn out the sockets sometimes,i cleaned them with small wire brush and bent in the contacts, the led lights use 1/3 less power and have nearly no heat from its lighting.......should be the last ones i ever buy.....

Pull bulbs out and rotate them. LED's are a positive and negative side, if they are in backwards they won't work.
