review on Rockford fosgate H2 stero upgrade
I did buy this system.....found prices from about $1200 to $500....bought at $500 of coarse.....it includes 2 new front speakers and a big plastic bass sub woofer and amp that fits under back seat...it uses factory type harness to plug into factory radio.....heres the problem I found the factory radio bass control does not lower the rear bass box, so you cant listen to the radio at low level without hearing boom boom boom, way to much bass, but at high volume it sounds ok, so I put in a togle switch that shuts down the big bass box and turn it on when looking for loud volume with base...Anyone else had this experience?

Hi dbhagat--you've jumped in on an old post. But I'll give you my 2 cents. I installed the Fosgate set-up, bought it brand new off Ebay for $250, and that's about all it's worth.
It'll give you more bass, but not enough to need to shut off the sub.
The only thing I don't like is the replacement door speakers tend to sound tinny when I'm playing CD's. I've thought about moving them to the back doors and putting in a couple of Alpine speakers up there. I'd recommend finding some replacement door speakers for the front and putting the fosgates in back door.
Good luck with it, curious to know what you think.

Well, just got the vehicle back. I found there is too much bass for my liking, The front speakers sound much clearer than the original bose ones.
I reduced the bass in the dashboard equalizer setting to minimum but feel I still need to reduce it more,,, there is too much "boom",,,, any suggestions?>
I usually listen to smooth Jazz and so the front speakers are perfect.
Thanks
