Default Replacing the stock battery???

Has anyone replaced the stock battery on their H3 with an upgrade? I have some add ons (T.V.s and dvd player) and the stock battery just crapped out on me. My h3 has 20,000 miles on it already. I had the alternator tested and it is fine. I also think the terrible heat wave in PA had a major impact on the battery. Has anyone gone with an optima? It would actually be more expensive and more of a hassle to have the Dealer replace the battery under warranty...as it is located over an hour a way from me. Any thoughts?

I agree with Import...If you want the next best, I'd go with an Energizer..They have a super great warranty..84 months and the first 2 years is a actual replacement.

Optimas are all I use for replacement batteries. Exide orbital are good too. However, your battery will be covered under warranty if you want to go that route. We had the dealership replace the battery in my wifes tahoe just before the warranty expired. Perhaps you can negotiate a price difference from the warranty, to a optima, and just pay the difference of the two. It might be worth a try. I find it pretty strange that your battery craped out that fast. I'd at least have the vehicle checked at the dealer, just in case. I live in south Texas, were africa hot is the norm, and my batteries have no trouble lasting a normal life span.

At the very least, I'd get the new battery from the dealer, and then buy what I wanted, and see about selling the other to help offset the cost of the new one.
