Replacing Steering Stabilizer-Need Suggestions to get old one off
Well I think the title says it all.....just did a Rancho replacement on all four shocks.....big difference over stock.....!
Went to do the steering stabilizer, because the oem one is toast (2007 H2)......got the one end off, but the other won't budge. Are there any tips or tricks to get the ball bolt out??? I've done many of stabilizers in the past and it usually only takes about 10 minutes.........this one was over an hour of trying and I finally walked away.......any suggestions are welcome!!!!

The only thing I don't care for with the new rancho, is that you have to use a bracket, which attaches to the arm with 2 u bolts. Seems to work fine. I just don't understand why they can't use the original hardware and hole for the new installation, instead of that bracket...???

You can use a pickle fork to remove the bolt that has a pressed fit, or any other tool like that. The puller would be ideal.
Attach the bracket to the shock. Set the new shock at 15 3/4" center to center and install the lower bolt/nut. Then install the bracket. The bracket will set the shock over and the bracket sits to one side. You will see that in the instruction sheet pic.
Tighten up all bolts/nuts, and then turn vehicle on and check for binding or anything else that might not be right.
I hope that helps!
I don't know if the 2008 model is different under there.....I know my old 08' drove a lot better than my 07'....
