Removing Doors?

Removing Doors?
Has anyone successfully removed the doors and driven without them? A lot of my buddies with Jeeps pull them off when we go offloading. Just want to know if its easy and can it be done?

I did it with my wagon. I would strongly recommend against it. It is a HUGE pain in the butt. The area you have to work in is extremely tight and there is hardly any extra wire to play with. I did make the mistake of not really having a plan on how to wire them so that I can make a quick disconnect. If you do do it, look at schematics first. It took me a couple days to get everything back together and I still have electrical issues from it. I was able to stuff the wires back in the sleeve that runs from the cabin to the door, but its uncomfortably tight. I am in Afghanistan right now. When I return to the states in September, I am planning on taking everything back apart and redoing my connectors into a single quick disconnect per door. I did use shrink tube though. At least I know things are as water tight as they can be. But its still not as resilient as the factory wiring. If I ever get another hardshell, I will NOT do this. Here's some pics of mine. I don't have those gaudy wheels and tires anymore. They were on it when I bought the truck. The picture with the steel wheels and Boggers are whats on it now.
