rear differential
Hello everybody,
Has anyone converted their H3 to a posi rear traction yet? and would anyone happen to know how many splines there are for a 2006 H3 Base model? Any comments on how the vehicle handled would be great?
Thanks
Don

I do not think you will find anybody that added posi or limited slip in the rear diff of a 3? These trucks are for wheeling, anybody opening up the rear for an upgrade would go to a locker, no point in a posi.
They do make them for the 10 bolt 8.5/8.6 diff for older GM corp cars/FS pickup guys.

Only difference is the gear driven will lay two scratch marks on dry pavment under hard acceleration, (in a vehicle without the heft of the H3 with the 5 cyl motor that is! )
I don't believe you'd gain any significant increase in off-roadability with a posi vs. the factory traction control system and you'd actually suffer when it comes to icy roads where a posi-trac can be a liability.

X2! Posi or LS woule not be and "upgrade".

So you think limited slip in the rear would be better? Isn't that what some H3 come with?
