Really BAD MPG

THAT will kill you. The roof rack alone killed my mileage big time. By as much as 5mpg in the hills.

I normally get 15.5 to 16 avg per tank with 35's, leveled, and roof rack. I spent a weekend at my deer camp early this spring when everything was wet and muddy and filled up the tank on the way. It was 18 miles there and back. I didn't think to check my odometer because I wasn't worried about it. The boys and I rode all of our camp roads and trails, got stuck twice but spent Fri night, all day Sat and most of Sun in 4low (80%) and 4high (20%). Just playing, riding and looking. We did make one trip to a small town to get ice on Sat. night. 20 mile round trip. That was it. My low fuel light came on right before I pulled into the drive way on Sunday night. I really don't know how many miles we rode so I'm not gonna guess. But I do know when we go and ride 4-wheelers on the weekend I have several times put 100 to 120 miles on my Brute. So if I was just taking a wild guess I would say I only got 150 to 170 miles on that tank but like I said about 80% was in 4wd low and spent a little time in a couple deep holes stuck pretty good too. Had to use come along, high lift and some saplings both times to get out. Don't have a winch yet! Both times I was letting one of the boys drive. It shows that having a little 4wd mudding experience makes a difference because I went back through both of those holes no problem with me driving.. Ticked the boys off.. So 4wd low on mine for most of a tank is not very good fuel mileage...

start your measuring with a completely full tank of gas and a zeroed out trip odometer. At the end of your measuring, fill up your tank completely. Divide the mileage on your trip by the amount of fuel you just put in. And don't try topping off your tank after the pump auto shuts off, that'll just throw off your measurements.

We have a 2007 H3 that's been leveled, 315 BFG AT's, Volant cat back exhaust, GM Performance intake and had the computer flashed by PCM for less, and typical around town is 13-15mpg. Interstate not using cruise I can get as high as 18mpg, using cruise it will drop to around 16 due to it shifting in and out of OD. Prior to all the mods, it was a solid 20mpg on the interstate and 16 in town. The tires really killed the MPG but it's worth it for the looks and the fact that my wife drives it a total of 50 miles per week at most !
