quick question about foul smell
My new H3 has developed a foul smell over the last few weeks. 918 miles on it and now and then I get that "rotten egg" smell. I can only assume some type of catalytic converter issue but I am not sure. What do you think? It is most noticeable when I turn the vehicle off, but there are times when idling or other times I get a whiff of it. It comes and goes so at this point I am not sure I want to take it to the nearest Hummer dealer (just over an hour drive) or wait it out a bit longer. My luck I will get up there and it won't smell for them and I will have wasted a trip.
Thanks for any advice.

RE: quick question about foul smell
The “rotten egg smell” that you mentioned is usually caused by fuel mixture in the engine that is too rich. The catalytic converter may be faulty but before you replace it the “too rich” fuel mixture needs to be corrected......How's your mileage?
Other than that..you might want to keep the windows down after a night out with pizza and beer..

HEHE
I will check the mpg on next fill up, if ok then I will take it in, if not ok, I will still take it in.
Thanks all

RE: quick question about foul smell
I had the same smell but mine was a dying battery and the smell got worse with jump starting the H3. New battery (courtesy of Roadside Assistance) and Voila! no smell.
