Damn Branstone it sucks wen 2500 is a break :eek Not saying its unreasonable, I dont know, just when you had $$$ work done recently. Good Luck

I've had this problem intermittently on my '08. After reading all this, I'll be taking it in before warranty is up for sure! The thing is, it only happens to me at work, where I park on a slight decline. It's never happened at home.

I've run into the same issue lately. Happens normally on first start of the day regardless of exterior temperature. Also will happen if i let it sit for more than 2 hours. If i just go to the grocery store and come right back out it starts up fine and wont stutter.
No codes are thrown and i've even heard it backfire once.
My question for the OP is did the expensive engine work fix his problem?
vehicle is an 08 H3 with 56K miles.

thanks Branstone,
you had no check engine light correct? I'm surprised that I do not have one either as it feels exactly like a misfire. did you notice any lack of power? I do not, it runs great after it starts up. I'll compression test it and post my results here.

did a compression test this morning before it got too hot out. I got 190 psi +\- 5 percent across all 5. pretty stoked that all is well. plugs look like they could stand to be changed. I'll swap them out and see if that helps my situation.
