I am having power window issues some switches only put windows up and not down and it seems the motors are getting really weak and the window rocks back and forth when it goes up and down. What is the remedy can you buy the whole assembly motor and track and just replace it all? Is this common? My H1 is 2001. Where is the best place to buy parts for these vehicles all I have here locally is a Cadillac/Hummer dealer and they are a-holes and are always trying to gouge me so I don't do business with them anymore.

it sounds like the window switches need to be replaced. it is common for them to get packed with dirt or the contacts ware out. i have rebuilt them in the past but for the price of the new switches it is worth it to replace them. on the other concern about the windows when they roll up bind and bump side to side. i would clean out the window channals with a q-tip. AM General uses streight window cannal guides and they get dirt in them. when that happens the winow grabs the rubber and bumps back and forth when you roll them up. i also use a little silicone grease in the channals after i clean them. if you replace the window regulators it will do the same thing. i have repaired a lot of these.
