I've been looking at 2007 H3's

I noticed that the location of the driver's side power window / door lock switches are located differently on some vehicles. In some they are located on the flat of the arm rest, like the 2006 models, on others they are located more forward and on the slant of the arm rest.

Is this a change that was made mid year or is it associated with a certain trim level?

 

Its a year thing. 06 model drivers complained of false button contact, same side reach issues, and water damage warranty replacement. GM moved the location based on those concerns. My 06 needed the driver side module replaced under warranty. Took less than 25 minutes. They told me newer panels will fit older doors with no mods, but I couldn't confirm if thats true or not.

 

I've seen quite a few H3's advertised as 2007 models which have the controls on the flat like the 2006 models. That's why I was questioning if it was a midyear change.

 

I believe that it was a mid-year change.

 

Ever notice that two different GM dealers rarely ever tell the same story? I'm not try to bash em, But I buzzed two different local dealerships just to check.

Hummer of Louisville said different years made the change (06 original, 07+ new design), and panels are not interchangeable within different model years.

Hummer of Cincinnati, said Hummer used what was left of old surplus stock and made changes in mid 07 and a few models in 08 have original panels. Cinci said all panels are interchangeable including wiring harnesses.

Its like they work in secret circles. Like Masons, but not as cool, or trustworthy
