Here is the one I carry. I cost me 24.99.. but they got very popular with the off road crowd, and are sometimes hard to find, are now usually about 50.00.

Pretty good compressor for the price. Whatever you get, the CFM rating is what to look for. The higher the better.

Well this is my before and after. You can get that small unit at Home Depot and it works good. You get air, jump start and inverter that will run an ac impact wrench. I just got the Warn and it airs tires really good but you would need an aux tank to run a air wrench.

Hey Hunner, nice set-up.....

(maybe one day for me...for now I'll just have to covet yours)

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of battery/alternator setup are you running?

Seems like I saw a post from you a while back regarding that topic...but I'm old and cant remember?

Ok, I've seen this mentioned twice now. What is a Warn connector. I asked at my local autozone, and they looked at me like I was nuts. I picked up the Harbor Freight setup for 50 bucks, and now I want to connect it up. What and where do I find these Warn thingys.

for a Warn connector, go to a real 4wd shop, anyplace that sells warn winches should have them. they're just beefy connectors that you can mount on the truck, and one on the compressor, so you don't have to open the hood everytime you use it. you'll probably want them to supply you with the cable as well, you'll want some beefy cable going to a compressor.

Let us know what you think about the Harbor Frieght pump!

I am still trying to decide what i want to do on mine for an air solution.
I definately want a onboard air setup though, with a 2.5 gallon tank.
I looked at the Viair kits but since they sell all the parts seperately, I could get the tank and guages and pressure switch and all and then feed it with 2 of the harbor freight pumps and still be $60 cheaperAND be at 2.7 CFM instead of 1.2 CFMwith a Viair. I figure with that CFM, it'd air up a tire in about a minute and a half or faster.

The only question is where do I mount 2 pumps and a 2.5 gallon tank?

Also of interest is this pump by Smittybilt
http://www.4wheelparts.com/PDT270344.aspx
It looks like its 2 of the harbor frieght pumps butted up to eachother. I think its safe to say that the Harbor Frieght is made by the same company as these Smittybilts.
I think I'm going to be calling Smittybilt to get a catalog!!

I did a little looking and that is in fact 2 of the Pep Boys compressors butted up to eachother. I wish I could find the Pep Boys models (MV50) for the original price ($24.99)!!! Anybody know where??
