Default Pitman idler arm change any tips??

Im changing my pitman and idler arms tomorrow. Ive heard you must remove the steering gear to do so. Anyone know any tips to avoid doing this and speed things up a little. I will be changing both again and adding the cognito kit in a few weeks i am just trying to get my H2 rolling safely for the weekend. It looks tight under the pitman arm. Dont think a conventional puller will fit which is what I have heard. any tips would be appreciated thanks guys.

Default don't do it

Let me know if you figure it out and you're successful. I couldn't get it done myself.

you could change those parts in a matter of a few hours if you have the tools it takes. your best best would be to go ahead and get the braces from them as well.

The local front end mechanic here uses a torch to cut the pitman arm off to save him time. When he told me that I made a mental note to never take my truck to him.

Default success

We changed the idler, pitman, and both tie rods without special tools. Took half a day. U may need a bar to come down through the top on drivers side. Be careful to line the spline back up correctly or u will be getting a new steering box as well
