I have a gas station 2 blocks from my house. Filled the tank on the way out of town and recorded the odometer mileage. Filled it again on my way home. Recorded odometer mileage and number of gallons purchased. Subtracted starting mileage from ending mileage to determine number of miles traveled. Divided miles traveled by number of gallons purchased to arrive at average mpg. Is there any other way?

mgoblue85, thanks for the answer on the Magnaflow. Gives me a better feeling ordering it.

Kauaineb, I did exactly what mgoblue did. Like him I don't know any other way to do it.

I have tracked every tank of gas since I've owned my Alpha. As of today, the overall average mpg is 14.18. Best mpg was 16.40, worst was 11.40.

My 2010 Alpha/Offroad normally gets 18 to 18.5 on the highway at around 72 MPH. Faster = less, slower = more. City driving 13.5 to 14.5 a little less in the winter. Nice looking rig.

I just rechecked my mileage. I filled up and wrote down the mileage. I drove 3/4 of a tank of gas this week to and from work and around town. I sell real estate and used it for work. I drive 30 miles each way to the office. About 15 miles of that is at 65mph with 4 redlights.
I ended up with 17.5 mpg.

I have also tracked almost every tank on all 5 Alphas and I have just about the same averages as you do overall 13.85mpg. Except for the lowest. Mine was 9.8 mpg. Towing a very heavy trailer @ 80mph!
