Default Pictures of my Almost New H3 Alpha

I got my H3 Alpha this week and was asked for pictures.
It is a 2008 Alpha with the Luxury and Off Road Package. About 44,000 miles.
I have an AirDoc CAI with a K&N Filter on order and am ordering a Magnaflow Catback this week.
I took it on a 330 mile ride yesterday. Around 50 miles city and the rest Interstate stopping about 5 times round trip. Ran about 70 miles per hour with the a/c on. Got 18 mpg. I filled up with 87 Octane. I have not talked to any Alpha owners so do not know if this is average or not.

Nice looking truck. Those mileage figures are not normal. I think 15 mpg is closer to average.

The worse I have gotten on my first tank was bringing it home from Ft. Worth. Leaving Ft. Worth I got caught in construction and took me 1 1/2 hours to go about 35 miles. After that I got on the Interstate. I got 16.5 with that tank. I filled up at 1/4 tank so ran about 3/4's of a tank to get the 16.5. That was about 72mph on the Interstate and no a/c.

Before putting on the 33's we were averaging 18 mpg. Once we put the 33's on it went down to 16.5 and that's what we have been getting ever since. I check the mileage religiously. G.M. specs are stated at 15 to 20 mpg. THe only time we dropped lower is when the purge valve, throttle body and MAF needed attention. Those will drain your gas. I'm going to open up the air flow soon to gain a little more mpg back, and next project with exhaust will also help to bring the numbers back up. Although I cannot see getting 18 mpg driving at 70 mph. I have never heard of that.

Thumbs up

18mpg is likely possible. We get around 16mpg with the oversized tires/wheels and a supercharger, as long as we avoid the temptation to get too heavy with the right foot.

BTW---nice looking rig.

mgoblue85, I was keeping my foot out of it to see what I could get.
I have the Air Doc CAI and K&N filter ordered. Due in around Tuesday. I was gonna order the Magnaflow 16832 Monday morning. I see you are running the Magnaflow. I have run Magnaflow on my last three vehicles and loved them. Do you have any negatives on yours running it on a Hummer?
