Paint or powder coat stock h3 rims
I have a h3 and I want the rims black but I don't know if I want to save money by painting them myself or getting them powder coated I want something that will withstand time and punishment so what would be some opinions

I've contemplated the same thing but I would find a reputable Powder Coat Company to powder coat your stock rims. Powder coating will last a long time if done by the right company. I've seen them done and they look great otherwise spend the $800-$1000 on brand name matte black rims.

I took mine stock silver rims, cleaned them with a green scotch brite pad. Shot them with two coats of rattle can primer. Then put two coats of black engine enamel that was over a year ago and they still look great. I have never had to touch them up or anything.

Scuff, prime and rattle can them any color and texture you want.
Easy, inexpensive, and you can touch them up when you get a scrape or have your tire/rim rebalanced down the road. I've done several sets of Jeep and HUMMER rims in this manor and it works.
