Default Onstar Removal 2004 H2?

I do not need onstar and will never use it so thinking of removing it...

Anyone know if there will be any problems with removing the onstar from the counsel?

Also anyone know of a block off plate/tray to fill the hole or an accessory like a CB/HAM/Scanner that will fit nicely in to the space with out looking cheesy?

I never thought of it, but I like your idea. OnStar is overpriced for what you get, IMO.

I like that idea. My DVD player is located inside the console. It takes up over half the space. Moving it to where the OnStar is located would give me the space back.

OK,

Here is My Plan!!!

I am going to relocate the On Star to the overhead console...

I am going to see if one of the AC/Air Control Relocation Kits Will Work http://themobilevideostore.com/produ...roducts_id/132

The On Star Slot Will house a Uniden Scanner BCD996T
Where the Fan Controls Used to be will house a ICOM IC-7000 (Ham Radio) head unit.
Audio connected to Factory Nav System Through A PAC AAI-GM24

All Wire's will be upgraded to aircraft grade "shielded Wire".

Will post photos when it's complete....

I look forward to seeing it. It would be great if you took pics along the way to document the procedure.

Talking with a local custom car audio shop yes the onstar can be removed and it is a standard single din.

I am installing a Icom IC-7000 and Icom ID-800 control heads on a ram mount. What are you using for a HF antenna?
