Default Oil at the water circuit

Hello,

first of all, I'm writing you from Spain, so, sorry for my sure horrible English...

I've got a 2003 H2 Hummer.

3 weeks ago, the transmission of my H2 was broken, I could used only 1st gear and the engine temperature was very high.

Now the transmission is repared and works perfectly, but the workshop man shows me that at the water expansion tank there is a lot of oil, it looks like a mustard paste.

What do you think, it's probably the oil cooler? Or maybe the engine block?

You will sure have more experince than any mechanic in Spain...

Thanks a lot in advance!!!

It's the trans cooler built inside the radiator. I would have your mechanic bypass the radiator cooler and add an external trans cooler. Dont forget to have them flush the cooling system.
p.s. your english is fine

Hi!!

Thanks a lot for your very fast answer...

I think you're right because the engine oil level is ok, the power and performance of the car is also fine but the trans oil is very low and it was changed last week...

We will order a new radiator hoping this will solve the problem.

Do you think we must change all the oils (engine oil and trans oil) because of the high temperature reached when the trans was broken?

Thanks a lot!

Yes I would change the engine oil and filter and flush the transmission fluid again after you replace the radiator.
