ORIGINAL: DWP99

You can also turn the key to the run position and hit the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds and it will reset the light.
Really, thats sounds crazy? I just cycle the menu on the DIC till its says oil life, hold the return for about five seconds or so and it resets.

On a side note, if you let someone other than the dealer do your oil change, don't let them charge you for removal of the skid plate. Some try to charge an extra $20. Its B.S., I can change the oil and filter without removing the skid plate.

I also reset on the sterring wheel, that is why I am confused!!

The dealer here in TO, doesn't charge any extra, I take them the oil and filter and only have them do the work, pain in my a$$ to get rid of old oil, guess I could if I needed to, never really looked at how easy it would be.

$60 for a regular oil change? You have to be kidding. That's nuts!

The dealer I go to is under $30 if you are part of our club, usually ends up being $27.99 plus tax, but that's just for regular oil. I was going to switch to synthetic on my next round, but haven't found out where to dispose of the old stuff yet.

Has anybody noticed a difference in power or engine smoothness from switching to synthetic from normal?

I use Royal Purple Synethetic with a K&N Filter, just started on my last fill up, I always used it in my other trucks, liked it much better, noticed a bit better Fuel Econ, but only time will tell,

$60 is alot for an oil change. When I had my F350 diesel, it was $67, but for 15 qts of oil. I take my H2 to a "quick-ee" oil change palce and it's $27.99. And they clean the windows! I do the "step on the pedal three times" thing to reset my Oil DIC too.
