Oil change
#2
I just got an 06 with 24,800. I did my oil last night and put in Royal Purple with a WIX oil filter.
I don't think with 34k miles on your truck switching to synthetic will be a problem.
Check your tranny fluid while you're at it. Mine was 1 quart low with no signs of leaks.

I've heard the same thing & have started using synthetic on my Ninja & Wix was a name dropped by multiple individuals.
On the Tranny... I ran across a thread & have since lost it regarding fluids & possibly improving gas mileage... Can somebody help me out with that???

Not sure if you've started other threads as well, but if not you might try starting a new thread of your own.
Most of the time a bread demanding help will only get you the opposite.
Also the search feature allows you to search through all the past posts ever made. If you're not getting answers it could be that there are tons of the exact same questions and a search would yield you answer
I don't have any clue as to the anwer re: your tranny fluid.
As for oil I chose to go royal purple for the life of my hummer. Oem tranny fluid and oem transfer case fluids since I'll be getting the extended waranty when mine expires.
I've used mobile 1 and amsoil a lot and have always read good things about both. With amsoil you can become a dealer and get a discount which could save you money. It's a real simple process.
Good luck.

Remember the 11 lube points also everytime you do an oil change.
Works great. The new Mobil 1 synthetic seems to have improved over the years (I have used it for 16 years), or the GM engines got better in using it. i.e. Mobil 1 no longer scores valve guides, etc. on GM V8's
Go for it!
