The charge is $20 per driver/truck, and $5 per rider. Which in my opinion, is completely worth it.

It took me two hours to get there from Dallas, and I believe it was worth the trip.

The park is absolutely massive, we spent about three to four hours there, and upon looking over the map, we noticed we covered about a quarter of the park.

The trails are star rated. One's are purely scenic, two's are almost amusing, and unfortuantely, there is a huge jump to the rather disconcerting three's. I never attempted a four.

Get there early, bring some lunch, and prepare for a few glare's from the Jeep boys as you will probably be the only Hummer there.

awesome man!!! thanks for the info! i'm glad to hear that its so big. i was worried that it'd be over-populated. i'm coming from dallas as well. sounds like i'll be sticking to the 2 & 3 stars as well. i assume there's gas stations around the gilmer area? given, i may lose an arm/leg paying for it...just as long as i'm not stranded

thanks again!

There are a few gas stations in the area, so that shouldn't be a problem.

It wasn't overly crowded at all, we ran into two groups of Jeeps, but the rest of the time it's like your own personal park.

I wonder what's running through the heads of those Jeep owners as you pass by.

Do us proud Bro..................

and remember, if you bite the big one over there, you are close enough for me to come get your lanky *** if necessary !

I'll PM you my cell if you'd like.

As for a run......that would be kick ***. Off the top of my head, I can think of the following local boys that might be interested.

Gunner_45
dmb7280
GarrettMoore (if he is in the area)
HUMMER DRIVER
nascar 17
JWSchmidt3
Bruiser (Was @ Rough Creek but haunts other forums. Wheels often in his H2)
Hummer<space>Guy

I'm sure we could dig up more, as I'm sure I have forgotten someone.

Unfortunately, my stupid ***, ever changing schedule might prove to be the death of me.........

Just some food for thought.....If we get enough interest, maybe a new thread is in order....

Good Luck, be safe, have some fun.....and above all...Kick some Jeep ***.........

Garrett, thanks again for the Field report.
