Default Off Road Lights Cheap or Brand Name

I'm looking at putting off road lights on my brush guard. I was looking on eBay and noticed the usual name brands but then there are some pretty cheapo one too. Are they all the same and I'll get more bang for my buck going with some cheap ones... or am I asking for trouble?

Spend the bucks and get any manfacture that has HID lights.

In late 2006 I went with Halogen KC's in black metal finish and they're holding up nicely including the reflectors even up here in the Northeast. This may be as cheap as you want to go.

I was afraid to go with anything more expensive due to theft issues.

I would agree with the statement above about HID. I have HID headlights and HID foglights on my 08 h2 and I had 4 offroading lights put on that were non HID. I ended up taking them off because they did not put out enough light unless you were right on top of a building or someting. There is no "throw" or distance to them. I would not suggest putting offroad lights on unless they are HID.
