Default Odd front vehicle movement while driving

Good morning! I ran into (at least I believe so) my first mechanical problem. I have a question for the group. When driving my H2 at speeds above ~40, I feel the front end tracking funny. It will be fine then periodically feel like it wants to track slightly right an left. Could this be the stabilizer bushings, hub, something in the front end linkage i.e. pitman arm? I appreciate all you do!

How old are your tires? Are they wearing even? Any scalloping? Shifted belts?

My last set were the oem BFG at's. They had all the symptoms mentioned above. Night and day difference when they were replaced. Could also have tires out of balance as well.

Also could be any of the things you mentioned including tie rods.

Get someone in the truck. Have them start the truck. Leave it in park. Chock the rear wheels. One block in front and one behind the tire.
Now you lie underneath the front and watch for any slop or play in all those parts you mentione while they saw the wheel side to side. If there is they need to be replaced.

You can also jack each front wheel up separately. Put a jackstand under the frame as well for a second safety device. Wheels chocked.
Grab the tire from top and bottom and see if there is any play there. If so you've got a bad ball joint.

Default Sounds like wheel bearings

Check your wheel bearings, as stated in previous post jack it up and give each wheel a shake, most likely the wheel bearing assembly.

Well it appears that both hub bearings are shot! I jacked each wheel up and there is extreme slop. I moved the wheel and the upper and lower ball joints weren't moving so it loos like tomorrow I will be changing not hubs.

Thanks for the update, sorry for the bad new there. Hubs are not that big of a job, just have yourself a long breaker bar to break loose the bolts. She will drive like new when you get that done....

Update: Both of my hugs were completely shot and I replaced them today. Took 4 hours because the bolts were really seized. All's good!
