RE: nyone add HID lighting to the H3
Hello,
This is Keith with STARR HID. .
Our Bi-Xenon system is the only HID system available for the H3 that uses projector technology and it is DOT certified. The use of projector technology is important because it gives the lights a tight cutoff and beam pattern (it illuminates a lot more of the road than the Halogen to HID conversion without blinding oncoming traffic).
The use of an HID in a Halogen lamp is pointless. All told your lighting system will most likely have less useful light than the OEM halogens. That is because instead of directing the light it sends the light everywhere (blaring oncoming traffic and even causing annoying reflections for the driver).
The H3 Bi-Xenon light by STARR HID will create 3.5x the light while decreasing the glare and using less electricity. It is also an easy install. It plugs directly into the stock mounting system.
