Default Not sure!

Thinking about purchasing the 95/H1 Hummer. It has 75000 miles. Several owners and its the diesel. The dealer states that the only problem he has come across is that if H1 sits for a while (meaning anything more then two days) the air in tires run out. The dealership states that it is a problem but their not sure what it is.. They continue to state that if you turn the car on,the tires fill back up.. Is this an expensive fix? Would be a first time buyer of the H1.. Should I put myself in this situation?

Its a leak the ctis system. Should not take long for someone to find and fix a leak. At least you know the pump works. Part of owning an H1 is learing how to fix it

could be anything from leaking lines, valves, connections or even the quick disconnect on one of the wheels isn't snugged down right. It shouldn't be that way but the CTIS system is prone to leaks over time.

on the 95 hummers it used a differant system than the newer hummers have. every thing is manual select instead of electric swithches selecting wheels and so on. the tires DO NOT pump up automaticlly when you start the engine which means if it does that, the switch is left on. you can pump up the system with the manual select valve set on both. when the tire pressure gets to 35 psi, turn the compressor off and rotate the selecter valve to off. next go to each wheel and push the little button on the quick disconnect which disconnects the tire out of the system. now you have isolated the system and you wait and watch what loses air. it could be one tire going down, look at the gauge and see if one of the needles drops than you would know where to go from there. on the old system it was mostly the selector valves that would leak that is why they did away with them.

No I did not. They told me first that it was up for auction on ebay and the winning bidder did not contact them. They then told me it was still for sale. Another salesman called and said that who ever showed up first with money in hand it was theirs. First salesman called back and was spilling the beans on all that was wrong with it.
Way too fishy and B.S. ing all the way. Whoever bought it good luck.

FYI. If u can spare the extra cash try to find a 97.5 or newer. Love my 96' but have spent a lot of cash updating things that are included in the 97.5's and newer ie: A/C system, cab venting, misc mech and interior. (And don't forget the Turbo!)
