Jumped in the H3 the other day and noticed no tunes on the radio and no door chimes. Checked the radio fuse even though the pioneer avid system powers on, pulled the after market systematic and re connected the factory radio same issue no sound. Anyone have any ideas. I did wire up the pioneer u it to another car and no issues. I am at a loss.....

I noticed a few months ago that Beatles tunes on the radio seldom had any vocals. I played around with the levels and noticed that I only had sound coming from the tweeters in the pillars and the left rear speaker. I thought it unlikely that three speakers failed at the same time, so I pulled the head unit and all the speaker outputs were working fine. Also the connector was fine - that's the only thing they have in common. I pulled one of the bad speakers and confirmed it was dead. I'm assuming they failed one at a time and I just never noticed it. FWIW, the factory speakers in my son's Chevy Colorado are doing the same thing.
I bought a pair of reasonably inexpensive JL two-way speakers for the front from Crutchfield and am happy again. I'll replace the rear shortly. The sound quality is not going to wow anybody, but they're still a far cry better sounding than the originals.
FYI, the chime comes from the speaker in the driver's door.
