Default Nitto Grapplers vs. Toyo A/T

Any comments??? I am considering both of these for a 20" rim, reading pros and cons.

IMO the nittos (i assume you are going with terra grapplers) are a much nicer LOOKING tire than the toyos. But this once again is only opinion and based purely on looks. I have actually seen nitto terra grapplers on some fleet trucks around here so they must hold up pretty good. Other than that i'm not really any help. Just thought i'd throw my opinion in.

they are made by the same co. toyo is the parent co. and nitto is the cheaper line (not that they are a cheap tire)
i have nittos on my Z-71 and toyosA/Ton the H3...
my tire rep said the toyos will last longer because the nittos are softer

I had Nitto's on my Suburban and got 35k miles out of them. And the last 7k miles they rode extremely hard and vibrated the front end when I braked. I put some Kuhmo's on it just to sell it. I had to admit I really liked the Kuhmo's for the 3k miles I put on them. I didn't know how bad the Nittos were until I put the new tires on them.

On my H3 I put 305/50/20's Toyo Open Country. And even though i have less than 2k miles on them I really enjoy them. They ride nice and are quiet. Do well on wet pavement and work well for average off road use. I do about 95% on road and 5% off so these work well for me.

Just my .02 cents.

Considered the same a few months ago. Went with the Nittos. Looking at the two of them side by side, the Nittos looked much better and more agressive tred, plus the sidewall looks cool. I can't comment on proformance of one over the other, although I will say that theNittos are holding up well and offer some decent off road traction. The Nittos were a huge improvement over stock for sure.

I have Nittos on my rig and love them. Mine are 20" Terra Grapplers.

i like the sidewall of the nittos better...IMO the sidewall makes all the difference when it comes to appearance
