Default New radio, new noise.

OK, I know this sounds crazy but what else wouldyou expect from someone who bought an H3? I picked my new H3 up from Orlando a few months ago and the display on the radio had a crack in it. The fine folks at HUMMER replaced it last week with a new radio and it works great but when I got back in my truck to return home the seat belt gong about blew me out of the cab! I don't remember the gong being that loud and I sure don't plan on listening to it for all eternity. Does anyone have any idea how to quiet it down?

There should be a way to lower the chime in the manual

Take it back to the dealer and have them check on it.

YES, I do wear my belt at all times! Been a prof Fireman for 23 years and have seen what happens to idiots who don't make it click. Also regarding the radio...If you ever need one replaced it's a two step process. First visit they have to scan it and get the proper numbers then order it. The next visit they install it. Not bad unless you live 60 miles away from the dealer. I wish they had a dealer closer to me. I'll try the owners manual before I make the trip again, stay tuned for news at 11.

I had mine replaced and had the same issue. I told them the gain was too high (but they didn't have a clue what I meant). They didn't realise I had the monsoon system. By default I guess all the replacement stereos are set for non monsoon systems. They plugged in a scan tool, set it up for the monsoon system and then the volume was normal again. Pretty sure that's your problem.

I'm pretty sure I have the Monsoon too. Also on that same note, the volume controls work diffrent than the last radio. Now the auto volume control for speed runs up way too fast and blows me out of the truck. I wish that there were something I could do myself because the dealer is 60 miles away. THANKS for the help. I'll be sure to pass that info along to them...
