They take so much. It would be amazing to see what the economy would be like if the government didn't sap the lifeblood out of the economy by taxing everything that goes on every step of the way.

we have a car pool lane but not very long.... we also have a toll highway but the prices keep changing every damn week it seems, they make it so no one can even friggin afford to drive on it!

 

The 91 Express lane between Riverside and LA/Orange County changes toll fees like airlines change fares. Every hour or two the toll is different. On peak days/times the toll can be as high as $9.50 one way. I don't know how/why people do it.

 

same here, the amounht is different all day but then every other month they up those rates too[:@][:@]

 

and they say the toll road, which was financed by bonds are barely covering the cost of paying back the bonds and operating them. What were they thinking when they built them...that people were going to pay $20.00/day to drive on their road?

 

same here, it is called Highway 407, it was privately owned, then governement owned and now I believe it is private again, with video toll, the per KM charge, and then video toll again, it gets crazy, if you have a Transponder, you eliminate the video toll but still... It is nice to drive when the other highways are packed but when the bill comes in, DAMN i paid to drive on a road!! That hurts...

 

I drive toll roads all day long.... easilly $20+ a day...

 

Fortunately I don't drive on the freeways much to get around. The traffic and waiting would drive me nuts.

 

I only did 44,000 miles since I got my new van 1 year ago... I was on track for 50,000+....

plus the 16,000 miles I put on the Deuce...
