H2's are pretty good, but since you have not had it long, you probably don't realize that your front end componets are probably worn.

I have a 2003 and a 2007, and I knew my 2007 was in better shape, that was until I replace all my pitman, idler, centerlink, tirerods, with some things I got from the dmaxstore. Now my 2003 steers tighter than my 2007, and my 2003 has a 6" lift and 41's.

Steering pumps can go in the next 20-40k miles, some people have lost hydroboosts around 80k.

Hubs get worn also. Rear brakes go long before fronts. Body mounts pop if you care. Mine do it and I don't care.

Air bags don't last long.

Truthfully, nothing on a H2 wears out any quicker than it would on any other full-size vehicle you would own.

For what it is worth, I only had the following items replaced under warranty on either of my H2's. I'm not going to include hubs or brakes, or even the front end stuff.

2003
Right front axle seal
Evap canister

2007
Transmission Pump seal

Thanks much for the info. I have noticed an irritating bump (?) noise at times when right after i put it in gear and accelerate, it sounds like a bad shock but the dealer told me all was well. It does not make the sound when i hit bumps though only it seems when i shift weight forward or backward on acel/decel. Make any sense? Also do you know anyone who has done the diesel conversion with/Allison tranny? No, I do not have 40k lying around, I was just curious and wondered how it worked for them. In theory it would be awesome correct? Lastly have seen the the stage 3 packages offered by Teakatoys and Predator and wondered if you knew anything about them. Worth the money, waste or what? thanks in advance,

J

I know 3 owners that had the conversions done.
2 @ Predator
1 @ Mash Motors

got to go for a ride. huge torque increase!

also, you can replace your idler/ pitman with Moog replacments. priced pretty good and quality product. when you are doing it, swap out to the Rancho steering stabilizer too. Makes a nice difference on road and more offroad.

That "bump noise" can be a few things. Body mounts go on these trucks. The earlier model H2's also need a "oil canning" fix as they called it. Under your battery tray, indents were needed to get rid the noise. I had a couple H2's that did that.

Was the truck offroaded? If so, check the UCP and skidplate to make sure the are true and all bolts are tight. sometimes those can casue noise issues also.
