New guy and 4x4
Howdy! i am new so please excuse my ignorance. i got my 07h3 a few months ago. bought it used 11,000 miles. i was not informed at all when i got. kinda spur of the momment but i love it. but i don't know much at all about them.so far just been kinda driving it but that will all change come hunt'n season. the dealership gave me no owners manual or any info on what it has or any thing. first question i can think of is about the 4x4. i hear people on hear talk about locking diff. and adventure package and all that. I'm pretty sure i know its full time all wheel drive. my two buttons on the dash show a 4 with an arrow pointing up (or down)and a picture of lock with it. so when i hit the button for 4 high is it locking just one axle or both. how does this work. and of coarse the same for 4 low
i did look throught the posts and did find the question or the answer i was looking for. if i over looked it i apologize for the repeat question. i just don't know what its all equipped with. thanks for your help

RE: New guy and 4x4
First thing I would do is get the dealer to order an owner's manual. They have all types of useful info in them. You have full time 4wd. The buttons are pretty self explanatory.4 with an up arrow is 4 high. That is what you drive around in all the time. 4 with a down arrow is 4 low and 4 with the lock is 4 low locked. 4 high or 4 low don't engage the locker.

RE: New guy and 4x4
You should get the manual because there is a lot of info there taht you will need. Like you can reprogram your remotes to sound the horm when you lock it, etc. Also how reset your oil life indicator and tire pressure sensors. Until than post away if you got any questions, glad to help.

just because you're new doesn't mean you are ignorant... plenty of our older members have the same issue....
You can also view an electronic manual here...

Destroyer...if you'll private message me an email address I can send you an electronic version of the 2006 H3 owner's manual. It's a Adobe .pdf file and should hold you over until you can get one from the dealer. Just make sure your mailbox can handle a large file because it's 2.6mb in size.

I heard that MuddyD, and I KNOW it was not directed towards anybody I know, but it MAY be offensive to some?

The goods:
Transfer Case Buttons
The transfer case buttons are located to the right of the instrument panel cluster. Use these switches to shift
into and out of the different all-wheel drive modes.
You can choose between four modes:
4^(Four-Wheel High): This setting is used for driving in most street
and highway situations. You canalso use this setting for light or variable off-road conditions.
N (NEUTRAL):
Shift the vehicle’s transfer case to NEUTRAL only when towing your vehicle. See
Recreational Vehicle Towing on page 4-57
or Towing Your Vehicle on page 4-57 for more information.
Notice:
Driving on pavement in Four-Wheel High Lock or Four Wheel Low Lock for extended
periods may cause premature wear on your vehicle’s powertrain and tires. Do not drive in Four-Wheel
High Lock or Four-Wheel Low Lock on pavement for extended periods.
4^ [w/lock symbol]
(Four-Wheel-High Lock): Use this mode when you need extra traction in most off-road situations
such as sand, mud, snow or level, rocky trails.
Notice:
Operating your vehicle in Four-Wheel-Low Lock above 30 mph (48 km/h) for
any extended period of time could cause damage tothe transfer case. Do not operate your vehicle in
Four-Wheel-Low Lock above 30 mph (48 km/h) for extended periods.
4[down arrow w/lock symbol]
(Four-Wheel-Low Lock): [font=arial][color=#231f20]This mode delivers extra torque to all four wheels and is used
for extreme off-road conditions. You might choose 4-Wheel-Low Lock if you are driving in off-road
situations, such as, deep sand, mud, or snow and climbing or descending steep hills.
When in this mode you can also choose to lock the rear axle, if equipped, for additional traction in extreme
[left]off-road situations. See Locking Rear Axle on page 4-10[font=arial][color=#231f20][siz
