Default NEW BRUSH GUARD

a WHILE BACK, THERE WAS A POST ABOUT THE "TORX" BOLT ON THE FRONT TOW HOOKS WHILE INSTALLING A BRUSHGUARD.
WELL I JUST PUT ON THE "SMA" 'GUARD FROM TEAKA TOYS. IT ONLY TOOK 15MIN+/-. THE KEEPER SCREW IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TOW HOOK CAME OUT WITH A 1/4" SOCKET AND THERE IS A BACKER BUILT IN THE BUMPER.

THIS ONE SHOWS THE CLIP

there was a change in mid 06 on that. I think the early models you actually had to damn near take down the bumper to get them off...they changed it to a torx that you can remove from the front with the bumper on.

Dennis would know more as he experienced it.

BTW...nice looking bar!

My, my, my....What good taste you have in brush guards.

I ordered the same one from Teaka a while back but haven’t gotten around to putting it on yet.

My time has been at a premium and I was afraid I'd have to go through that whole front end tear down nightmare.

Hence, my hesitation on the install. Your info and my build date indicate otherwise...woo hoo....

After seeing your install docs, I'll definitely have to get that bad boy bolted up.... ASAP.

BTW: Saw that guard on several other trucks and fell in love with it, but couldn’t find one anywhere....

Thought I'd have a better chance of finding and reconstituting Madonna's cherry.

Teaka had 'em and for a couple hundred less than anyone else...Shipping was a bear though.

How do you like yours so far?

Any vibration?

Hood clearance ok?

It took only 10-15 min to put on by myself.
Can be done with basic hand tools.
No vibs noticed.
The hood clears fine, but getting in to lift the hood is a little close for my fat fingers.
Other wise, great all-around fit and finish.

Make sure you ask for the HUMMER FORUMS discount--10%.
My charge was right around 590 +/- inc shipping to ABQ,NM.

I remembered seeing a thread back in may or June where a car hit a guy's "H3" and this guard ripped up the Carolla and no dmg to the H3.
That is when I knew it was the one to have.

Crap..........I missed out on the 10% ! !

Was'nt a member at the time and didnt know about it.

$499.00 for the guard.
$135.00 for the shipping
----------
$634 total to the door.

Dealer wanted $625 for the factory unit.

One thing about that guard, I have yet to see another one like it here in Dallas.

Cant say the same about my Black H3 though......

You can't swing a dead cat without hitting at least two of the damn things.

That's ok, I still like it.

Man, I aint buying that “I did it myself” statement.

One can clearly see in photo number 5, that you have enlisted the help of one “Invisible Man”.

Speaking of pictures, what kind of wheels are those? They almost look like some sort of bead locks in the photos.
But then again, it could just be me. I’ve been looking at so many wheels I see the F’ers in my sleep.

I might just wait until I get all my other crap in and do an extreme make-over while I’ve got some time off after the first of the year.

There will be photos........Before and after.

Pulled both tow hooks then picked up one end and set one bolt. then att the hook plates and on and on.....
It is easier than it would seem.
