Default Nerf Bars about a inch away from tire HELP

My nerf bars on my H3 have some how been bent really far back and are extremely close to my back tire. Its on the driver side. How can I move the nerf bar back? I tried pushing against it as hard as I could but it didn't budge. The bar and tire are so close I can't put my thumb in between the tire and bar

What would you do? Any suggestion?

You obviously hit something and bent the mounting brackets, shifting the nerf rearward. Disassemble the brackets from the body and nerf. Take a bracket from the passenger side (since these have not been bent). Try and straighten the brackets yourself with a vise, using the good one as a template to match the bent ones to. If you can't do it yourself, take the 1 good one, and the bent ones into a shop and have them do it. If that fails, you may have to order new mounting brackets.

Ditch the nurfs and put 35s on it! Just kidding, there was a guy on here and that is all he ever said.

Front tire or rear tire? put a strap around the bent portion of the bracket and also around a big tree. Back up or pull forward (depending on the direction you wish to pull). Do it slowly, check your progress. You may have to check it a few times. You can also pick up a set for about $150 on craigslist, and keep the second as a spare. Just in case you "have some how been bent really far back" without knowing????

You could also anchor a "come-along" to something solid and pull the bent nerf in the direction you want to return to.

Or "ditch those nerfs"

I vote come-along over "tie it to a really big tree" but either should work.

Compromise, Tie the come a long to a really big tree.

With any luck you will pull it all the way off and then can ditch those nerfs

That's what I would do. Then you won't have to worry about bending them again.
Next time might puncture the tire!

When you bend it back you are also going to make a poor design, weaker... and the next time you accidently bend them without knowing.... it will be easier..

if you need them for egress then I'd start looking for a new set...

or ditch them...
