Hey guys as the title suggests. I need to put a new battery in the H2. Anyone have any suggestions ? I've normally always opted for Bosch, but am open to opinions. Anything i need to be mindful of i.e. re cold cranking amps etc etc.

If you were in the UK id suggest this one
Radio doesnt drop out when starting and the neat thing is it has both front and top terminals, useful if you ever need to use a booster or jump cables. Looked on ebay.com for the US market but no joy as yet.
Oh - just found this site

Problem is he is in Russia so pretty much any of the US brands will not be an option. I'm not sure what, if any, US brands are shipped worldwide.
Here though, the popular choice nowadays are the AGM type batteries. The Optima ones have taken a nosedive in quality over the past few years. Odyssey, Duracell and one or two others seem to be the top choice for enthusiasts now here in the US.

Thinking this one:
Capacity: 77 A / h batteries of similar capacity
article: 02630
Starting current: 780 Ampere
Polarity: Contact [- +]
Dimensions: 278x175x190 mm
Manufacturer's Warranty: 24 months. (From the date of sale)
brand: Bosch
Is it powerful enough or too powerful even ? The winters here can become pretty cold!

Personally I would find an AGM type battery that will fit and has the capacity you need. AGM batteries also have the best vibration resistance, can be mounted in nearly any position, the best performance in extreme temperature conditions and usually the best warranty. Of course they also have the highest price too.
I think you would have to go to very extreme sizes to have a battery that would be "too powerful" and even then it would only be too powerful in that the charging system might not be able to fully charge it. Everything else just draws the amount of power that whatever it is needs.
For Bosch I'd say their AGM S6 series would be the best followed by their traditional flooded S5, then S4, then S3 series in that order. As you move down each has less of a warranty, lower performance, and lower overall quality.
The key is just getting a battery that physically fits and mounts properly with the battery connections in the right location. Unless you want to modify the battery cables....
That being said the factory specifies a group 79 battery with 880 CCA. Group 79 is the physical size and layout of the terminals and 880 cold cranking amps. It will still start just fine with a bit less CCA though. 780 should be plenty. That is also a catch with the AGM batteries - in the same physical size they generally are a bit lower on CCA than their traditional flooded type counterparts.

After careful consideration, and what I could find in Moscow, am going with the Bosch one I mentioned above. I looked online, and guess there's one bolt holding the battery down via a bracket ? (please correct me if I am wrong). I'll let you know how i get on. Appreciate as always, the feedback and guidance.
