Default Need info on how to replace transfer case rubber mount for 2006 H3 hummer

I"ve been hearing a noise when shifting gears. I troubleshoot the cause and I found that the rubber mount for the transfer case is badly worn out. I took it to dealer to replace the rubber mount and the mechanic said in order to replace the rubber he will replaced the mounting set. He said you cant buy just the rubber mount. Its unbelievable that the rubber is the only problem and it needs to replace including the bracket. I like to replace myself but if anybody got a chance to replace this, please give me advice. I will try to buy the rubber mount at the dealer parts store if available.

There are a couple of threads about this on other forums. Basically as you found out, its not a factory available part. Some folks (like Bebe and Speedy) have tried to adapt bushings from other applications with a modicum of success but a 100% solution is still to be found.

You're gonna have to get dirty and crawl under the vehicle to id it. It is in the transfer case crossmember, no more freeclues! 8-)

Highway Cruiser, google hummerxclub, carrier bushing redux and alrock. That's the thread you need to read. Best two posts are the first one and the (next to the) last one.

No surprise the "book" doesnt have all the answers...

Check with the guys a suspension.com I've got my cross member bushing coming from them...
I would also check the yoke on the drive shaft... I was getting noises and turn out that that was the culprit...

X2 on contacting suspension.com or energy suspensions.

The Bebe/Speedy fix is for the front crossmember that holds the front diff not the T-case bushing.
