Need help removing rock chips off my hummer asap!!!
Hi my name is Thomas, I am new to this forum… I have a 2001 Hummer H2 (BLACK) with some rock chips on the hood and bumper, I've been doing a lot of reading in the forum but can't find anything about rock chip repair… I saw a TV commercial this past Sunday on Car Crazy on the Velocity Channel for a company called EZ Chip Repair…. I went to their website Ezchiprepair.com and looked around…. the product looks good, so I went to google and read their reviews and they have mostly good reviews. So my question is has anyone in this forum tried this product???? I would love their feedback before i buy it… Thank you

I don't recall seeing anyone talking about chip repair. The 2's are high enough that chips really shouldn't be that big of an issue. Plus the front is all plastic for the most part. Also 2's weren't made in 2001....

TD,
First off, I think you typo'ed
The earliest H'2' was sold as a 2003 model year.
Possibly if it wasnt a typo on the year maybe it was a typo on the model, since they did make 2001 H'1'
Second, all of those rock chip repair solutions are garbage. Everything I have come to find state that you spend about 20 bucks for nothing more then a 2 dollar bottle of touch up paint. It has been stated that the few that do work take ALOT of work (lots of coats and time involved). And if you watch the commercials, you can see that they never show the chip prior to the paint, just the paint then the wipe....
Now lets break down the movie magic further... you dont see the chip because they isnt one. How many times have you touched up a chip only to see the line of the chip, yet for reason this miracle paint method allows no visible sign of the chip behind.
Sorry, but even a paint shop would say BS.
In fact I took my old Tundra one day to a autobody shop, and I asked if they would get rid of the chips... they said they had two methods. One was basically doing touch up paint, like you and I could do (they just said it would be neater and better then me doing it, but you would still be able to tell)... the other was to feather out the areas, then paint, and then wet sand.
Sorry, there is no Calgon ancient chinese secret method of rock ship repair that the auto body shops dont share.
