Need Help Figuring Out Why a Auxiliary Power Plug is Not Working
Hey guys, new here and need some help.
Today I inserted a power inverter into one of the 2 auxiliary power outlets on the dash (right below the onstar). The inverter started to make a warning noise that it was not relieving enough power so I shut it down. After disconnecting the inverter from the auxiliary output I connected my cellphone charger and realized that the auxiliary power output is no longer working. What stunned me is that the one directly next to it is working just fine and so are the ones in the rear and trunk. I checked all the fuses for the auxiliary power on the side of the dash and under the hood and they all were fine and not popped.
Can somebody give me some advice on what to do or what to look for to get the auxiliary power jack working again? As I would really like to have both working so I can run my GPS and charge my phone at the same time.
THANKS!!!

I am guessing one fuse for all the outlets. right?
If yes that outlet probably has gone bad. If you are able to get to the connector in the back check to see if you have source voltage using a DMM or maybe a test light. I would use a DMM because I think it is much safer.

I recently ran into this problem the inverter blew one port in out of the two and the one in the back. I checked fuses under the hood /44/45/46 but they are not blown.
How did you solve this problem? Is it possible the actual port is blown.
Help?

Yes that was the case. I ended up having to change the actual aux port out and re-grounding it. Very strange and still don't know why that happened but has been working fine ever since. Just a bit frustrating to take everything apart for such a minor repair.
