Need help! To buy or not to buy?
Well I am new to the hummer. I currently drive an 03 Ram 1500 with the hemi of course but its looking like I'm going to switch! I love my ram but 11mpg is killing me and I dont need that much truck. All I have to haul around is my 4wheeler and my fishing gear. There are two people that I work with who have 07 H3 with the I5 3.7 One is an older lady who says she averages about 20 mpg with hers and the other guy says he averages 16-17. I currently (at one job) drive about 19 miles one way (interstate). I do this anywhere from 3-5 times a week and my full time job is around 5 miles one way small city driving. Will I be able to get atleast 16mpg with this and what are most of you guys getting? heres the link to the one im looking at Chevrolet 2007 Hummer H3

Second, 16 mpg wouldn't be unheard of, but it has a lot of variables, your driving style being the biggest. You'll get better than 11 mpg's in an H3 but the more mods (leveling, bigger tires) and weight (roof rack, winch) you add, the mpg's will decrease. If you keep it stock you should be in the 16-17 mpg avg...but you'll also have to keep your foot out of the gas since you're coming from a V8
I get 17-18 mpg but it will decrease once I go to bigger tires (currently running the 265/75's) and "level" the truck.

First, in my opinion, $21900 is pretty steep, for an '07 even with 39369 miles which is not coming with any extras like leather, monsoon audio, navigation, brush guard, etc. Just a sunroof.

I dont know if this helps but I can get it at $19900. Ill prob keep it pretty stock with the exception of throwing on some cooper zeon ltz's. I love those tires. They wont be too big though due the highway driving. So 16-17 would be what i could get?

The asking price is almost 2g higher then the kbb on that area id haggle the hell out of them. If you have a mechanic buddy take him with you he will pressure the hell out of the dealer i still think thats the best way to purchase a vehicle.

For some stupid reasons, Hummer are going for higher then the KBB........I was also told by different dealers that Hummers are sold quickly due to the large amount of military returning home. And those that are not sold are then sold to auction houses, who quickly sell to overseas buyers. Hot items.......

I know around here (Milwaukee area) thats not a bad price at all. I had a 07 I5. It was a nice H3 and I averaged between 19 & 20 mpg's. I now have the 08 Alpha with the 5.3 V8. I would suggest looking for a Alpha if I were you. The V8 I found still able to get 16-18 mpg's with a lot more power and towing.
