According the service manual it is located behind the left center a/c duct. The manual calls for the dash to come out to get to it. The next time we have a dash out to replace a heater core I need to take a look at where it is. If I get lucky it will be one with navigation. Steve

BTW, what is the P/N for the service manual? I have them for every other car I have owned and they are invaluable as you already know.

I got a look at a factory nav unit and where the gps ant. goes. You do not need to remove the dash *(like the sevice manual states). It is located at the firewall behind the radio near the left center a/c duct. There are 2 mounting tabs/towers that you screw it to. They are a little tricky but see no problem installing it. Steve

Do you know which amplifier goes with the oem nav unit vs what goes with the oem single CD stereo?
My On-Star and Nav volume is almost too low to hear.Nothing I do makes it loud enough.
I suspect a different amp is used witht he nav unit vs the base OnStar/XM/Single CD unit I have.
