I'd just look for the best and newest truck possible for the money you want to spend and not get hung up on the engine. I've only driven an '07 loaner for a day and a half, not really a big deal engine wise compared to our '06.

If anything, you could put the $3 to 4K savings towards a tire upgrade, brush guard and lights. That would be a lot more fun and useable than an extra 20 HP.

Too bad you dont live in my area. The Hummer dealer here (Bergstrom of Neenah wi.) has at least 10 used H3's on the lot, pretty decent selection. Most of them are black, 1 red ,1 blue, Probably coming off of lease with warranty left on them

What prices are you guys seeing on 07's and 08's?

I am going to look at 2 tomorrow (same dealer)... Both are 07's.

One is black w/ tan leather, no sunroof and some kinda weird wheels. looks OK but i wouldn't have picked them. Only 19k miles and they want $24.9

The other is white and seems to be loaded basically. Black leather, Nav, S'roof, etc. 40k miles and they are asking $27.9 (seems WAY high to me).

How do these prices sound? Both seem high to me. The black one seems to be priced more accurately, but the white one is what I am looking for.

'09 Production was stopped and '10 production won't resume until the Hummer sale is finalized late this year.

Just got back from my test drives. Compared to the 06 I drove, the 07 does seem a bit more peppy. Also, the black one only had 19k miles and still had a new feeling to it. I liked that one overall (it was the cheaper one) except no sunroof.
I noticed the s'roof is HUGE on the H3... think I would regret not getting it?

If you park under trees, it'll save you the maintenance headache of having to clear the sunroof drain tubes every year.
