My Hummer story
Greetings all. I have checked out this forum for afew months and just got around to registering.
My Hummer story.
This past October, I was taking my 5 year old son to a Park District Soccer game (which I was coaching) and we were in my 1997 S10 4X4 extended cab P/U. We were only 3 blocks from my homewhen we were involved in a car accident.Someone ran a stop sign and hit me square on the drivers door spun me around 90 degrees. As a result, the truck was totaled. I was injured slightly and my son was fine.
Once, I was well enough to to get an around I had to start truck shopping. My wife and I started at our local Hummer dealer to test drive the H3T. What a ride! Being that I am over 6' tall, I was not acustom to moving the seat up to drive. My mind was made up, however, I did want to try other brands. I tried the Chevy Colorado (the replacement for the S10) and I was not impressed.
The following week, my wife and I returned to the Hummer dealer and purchased the H3T. I was the first one to take delivery of one from my dealer, The only had 3 at the time. It is a very nice truck and look forward to the future adventures my family and I will have. With all the snow we had in December, it handled better than my previous S10 4X4.
My only comments on the vehicle is that I wish the steering wheel tilted up more than it does. I have to slide my right leg in on an angle. I am not that impressed with the sound quality of the stereo. Too much BASS and I have corrected by turning it down and the treble up a little, Maybe these are issues I could address with the dealer.
Thanks for reading!

RE: Pic of my H3T
Welcome!! I wasnt involved in an accident but my uncle was killed when a deer hit his car...I was so paranoid after that with my 4 year old in the car. My hubby and I had talked about it for a while and I had an 04 Ford Escape. I felt like if someone broad sided it my little man would be badly injured. So like you we went and looked at the Hummer, but I didt want to be biased so we tested some other crap...like the Expedition (crap crap crap) and the Explorer...even crappier and the Jeep Grand Cherokee...no thanks...and the Cadi SRX ...nice but no. The hummer had us at hello. We were astonished at the room my son had between his feet and the passengers seat. The ride was awsome and I dont feel like if someone hits us we will be recovering in the ICU for weeks. I am amazed at how solid my H3 feels! I dont want to ever buy another car. I also have had a couple cars in my lifetime and always have buyers remorse after buying...Not once with my hummer. People are like..what about the gas...I tell them, I dont worry about that b/c I feel safe and I feel like my son is safe and that is worth any price in gas to me!
Congrats and welcome!
Glad you guys came out unscathed!
