My H3 is so plastic!

There's nothing wrong with plastic. It's far superior to steel in a lot of applications. It's hard for some people to equate plastic with anything other than brittle Japanese toys from the 1960's. Plastics have come a long way since then.

Well, maybe this will make you feel a bit better.
Regarding Porsche: I know a guy who has a Porsche GT2, we're talkin a $100k plus car, and he was having trouble with the gear shift feeling mushy. It turned out that below the shift boot (out of sight of course) the selector is made of...drumroll........PLASTIC! It had broken.
And regarding door handles: I also have a BMW sedan and about two weeks ago when I went to open the driver's door rather than pulling the door open the handle simply *snapped* off into my hand. There I was standing dumbfounded as I held the entire door handle in hand. Guess what material it turns out composes the entire door latch and handle mechanism?
So plastic ain't nothin new my friend...even the "finest" marks out there seem to apply liberal usage of the stuff.
