What about some 3M paint protection film? I can't find anyplace with precut patterns, but I did find bulk material. The front of the fenders seem like a pretty flat surface which could make for an easy install. I used some on my TT to protect the bottom edge of the fenders and it is barely noticeable. 8 mil should be plenty and in an 18" width and 2' length you could probably get a half dozen strips.

I too paid about the same $150 for the dealer to install. I am machanically inclined but a little lazy sometimes and if it worth it I would rather pay to get it done. I did put the tube rails and brush guard on myself and will put the roof rack on when I buy it. Amen on the salt and cinders
I could have installed them myself too but the dealer told me that if they installed them, they would have the 4 year/50,000 mile warranty just as the roof rack, tube rail, and push bar, etc. Sounded like a better plan.
